Tsanko Dyustabanov Primary School
The project for the reconstruction of the Tsanko Dyustabanov School plays a key role in the Gabrovo Municipal Administration’s strategy for restoring one of the most beautiful boroughs of the city to its former glory. The ambition is to make it attractive to families with young children by offering a high standard of education for their children and a beautiful interior and exterior. To create a seamless complex of two buildings - a piece of classical architecture from the 1940s and a modern building from the mid-60s, meant we had to use different approaches in the restoration of the exterior walls. The sports center, which is used by the citizens of the entire city, adds weight to the complex with its colorful exterior. The center for special educational support has a considerable social importance for the city. The location of the school, a place that will play a key role in the future development of Gabrovo, required a responsible approach to selecting the materials to be used for the reconstruction process meant to breathe a new life in the old buildings.
