The architectural design takes into consideration both the current state of the area and the future. In this direction, a composition of a distinctive and contemporary architectural language is created with the aim of establishing a landmark in the developing area of Voula. The main idea is to create a double shell that encloses the composition on the lateral boundaries of the plot and along the entire vertical axis, creating the necessary conditions for privacy for the building's users. The peculiar shape of the plot, as well as its proximity to Vassileos Pavlou and Plastira streets with narrow facades and large sides on the lateral boundaries, dictate the need for private spaces while confirming the best possible "continuity" of the uncovered spaces with the adjacent ones. Thus, two large uncovered spaces with planting and tenant recreation areas are formed, following the geometric principles of the plot and balancing with the adjacent areas. The curved plates and their slight rotation on the vertical axis give the impression of a not-so-compact volume while creating interesting shadows on the building's facades and different visual perspectives from the balconies. The shell is perforated with sparse openings in more "private" areas and densely in the opposite case. The openings communicating with the internal spaces of the building are covered with glass elements that provoke interesting reflections in the interior. Aiming for sustainable development with its fundamental philosophy being a symbiotic relationship with the environment, limiting the consumption of natural resources, and utilizing renewable energy sources during the design phase, we utilized local climatic data. A key element of the design was the creation of water and green surfaces that generate and develop microclimates, simultaneously reducing CO2 emissions into the environment and preventing the creation of the urban heat island phenomenon in the area. On the ground floor, the shallow lake with stable islands internally and the swimming tank, in combination with the gardens, create a microclimate and provide conditions for natural cooling on the pilot level and the entrance space of the complex, and consequently in the surrounding area - neighborhood. Additionally, tall trees suitable for bioclimatic design are planted. Green spaces are created on the balconies. Another element contributing to the creation of the microclimate on the roof is the perforated pergola, which functions as a diaphragm, offering the required conditions for shading, ventilation, and cooling.
